I was born in Baltimore MD.
4th gen American
went to school in US including undergrad.
Practiced for 17 + years as an RN in the US
But going to a medical school outside the USA makes me a Foreigner
Somehow I'm now a non US Doctor and put into the same category as a Doctor from another country. One who has never practiced here nor has lived in the USA.
I was out of the country during medical school for 18 months
Spent the rest of medical school in the USA taught by the same US doctors as the US students.
I have large US student loans
How do you get the Residency programs to understand without throwing your app into the IMG pile?

perhaps research can help? I heard research helps a lot with residencies. Is that true?
Research does not help as much as
ECFMG Cert
Step 3 passed
Clinical experience
I have the clinical experience
I have to take CS still ( passed Steps 1 and 2 CK) for the cert
and will take step 3 before the match 2013
I hope I match this year though
