I have posted many times before on premed applications but here in the nutshell are the main points to follow.
Apply to no less then 10 schools
Consider a DO school in the Mix and if your GPA is lower then 3.4 then consider applying to more DO then MD.
Do not let state lines keep you from applying.
MCAT will not out weight a poor GPA and vice versa
GPA ( what you did over time)
MCAT ( how well you tested in one day)
Volunteering ( your willingness to give your time freely)
Patient experience ( your experience with real life patients)
Shadowing ( your understanding of what a physician does, this should be over a week and following most of the day)
Your personal statement ( a snapshot of who you are)
Have a good package and you should get interviews and Accepted.
